Foeder-Lagered Rügen

8.9%
Porter - Baltic
Rugen combines an intricate malt bill with the subtle influence of our oak Foeder to produce a brooding take on the regional specialty of the Baltics. Brewed with a balanced measure of beechwood-smoked malt and having rested on American Oak for over 2 months, Rugen is a sipper that truly opens up as it warms. Pouring a near black, notes of smoke, subtle anise, and molasses waft from the glass. The complex malt character is truly evident in the taste with deep notes of raisin, dark chocolate, and toasted brown bread. A lingering burnt caramel-like sweetness is cut by a final note of dry oak. Rugen finishes with a smooth and velvety mouthfeel.
